the happenings (and banking)

ok, so heres whats been happening

i had last week off work. great, but it means i didnt get paid (im casual). i was told to take the week off by management because they thought my shoudlers needed a rest. so last week i didnt do all that much. i have a docters appointment this thursday. work cover will prolly get involved, and things will get ungly. yay.

this week was different

started back at work again this week. yesterday i did alot of running around for my trip. i got internet banking set up for my regualr account, applied for and ANZ Visa debit card and got passport application forms for steph.

insert: steph, my girlfriend, is wanting to come to the UK with me. this is great, but she has never been further away from sydney than the gong. so im helping her get that together. also, daniel might also want to come as well, havent spoken to him yet. steph has decided to give up buying a car this year for our plans, so i think thats excellently cool.

last week i signed up to be an Independant Business Owner for Network 21. thats all im saying, if you want to know more then come and talk to me.

thats all that comes to mind.

oh, im broke right now too.

cheers
Ja§h

im not done yet, just remembered something.

whilst at the bank getting netbank up and running, the kind lady at the help desk asked me about the origin of my name. so i tell her my mum made it up. then she asks how my mum made it up. so i tell her the little story behind it. all the while, shes NOT DOING ANY THING!

if she was waiting for something to laod on the computer, fine.
if she was waiting for some one to answer the other end of the fone, fine.

i do no go to the bank to have small talk. banking is business for me, i go there to sort my money and that. is all. banking traditionally never has been, and for me, never will be a social situation.

i once went to the bank to deposit a cheque. this is the conversation that followed

me: howyagoin
teller: just shove that thru for u?
me: yep thats all
*business*
me: thanks
teller: cya

now that is all the conversation thats needed. i dont care how the teller is, and i know they dont care about how i am.

i also hate the ones that try and sell banking products. i do not want a home loan, a credit card or any thing else. you are a bank teller, not a snake oil salesperson. dont try and sell me things i dont have the moeny for, dont need or dont want.

i walked into anz. i missed the touch screen ticket dispencer. lucky for me the place was empty. i alked straight up to a teller and asked about a product. he then told me about the ticket despencer.

now heres the thing, australias population is ageing. not every grandparent can navigate a touch screen. who the hell was the smart arsed sod who had the idea of modernising banking to such an extent? they will have to hire some one to stand ther and hit the buttons for the old codgers cause they wont understand how to do it, and maybe be unable to see the screen all that well.

anz must employ yuppies.

thats all for now.

cheers
